This Schoolhouse block is one of the most traditional quilt blocks for a good reason - it’s Classic! This quilt was first published in one of my Farmhouse Quilts books - “Schoolhouse Classics” - in 1998. I’ve kept the original look of the design, using Liberty Homestead’s hand dyed, sueded cotton in bold, primary country colors. These colors are repeated in the scrappy borders and binding. This quilt has stood the test of time, and will for many more years!
The kit includes Liberty Homestead’s hand dyed cottons. Straw for the background and eight deep shades for the houses, borders, and binding: Grape Jelly, Barn Red, Shade Tree, Meadow, Goldenrod, Liberty Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and Cattails. Also included is a coordinating shade of DMC embroidery floss. Does not include backing.
