The Dresden Plate is probably one of the most versatile traditional blocks.  It can be scallop topped or pointy topped.  It can have any number of wedges, long or short.  For my little quilt I’ve made 9 cute little Dresden Blossoms from ivory shirtings on a dark grey background.  The bright green centers & border give an unexpected spark of color. This simple traditional quilt is quickly made with raw edge applique.
